Prayers for Philippines

It was a horrible sight watching on the internet the effects of typhoon Maring and Habagat that devastated 80 percent of Luzon area in the Philippines and lasted for 4 days of continuous rain (August 18-21, 2013).  I'm very grateful to God that my place at Cavite was spared from flooding because of its high location from the rest of other subdivision.  Almost all of Metro Manila area such as Makati, Pasay, Paranaque, Marikina, Pasig, Caloocan, Valenzuela, Muntinlupa, Malabon, Pateros, etc., are flooded and submerged by the continuous rain.  Pampanga, Bataan, Bulacan, Laguna, Pangasinan, Cavite, Tarlac are not spared by the wrath of Typhoon Maring and Habagat. Ricefields and crops was destroyed and almost all areas are turned into waterworld.   Some experts say that this is much, much worst than typhoon Ondong and the Habagat of 2012.  As reported by the news, over 1 million individuals are affected and an urgent need of food, clothes, medicine and other relief goods. Numerous cities declared state of calamity.  Families are relocated to evacuation centers such as schools, covered courts, barangay halls, and even churches. Concerned government agencies, NGOs, GMA-7 Kapuso Foundation, and ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. - Sagip Kapamilya  started to give relief goods to the affected area.  I hope and pray to our Almighty God that the people of the Philippines can overcome this latest tragedy that struck our nation.  I'm appealing to all OFWs in the Middle East, Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia that we collectively pray for the early recovery of our nation from the wrath of typhoon Maring and Habagat.  God bless our nation.
