QUEZON (2025 Movie)

I had watched the Philippine movie "QUEZON" which stars Jericho Rosales as Manuel Luis Quezon in the lead role. I can say that this film is a must see movie. This is the final movie in the trilogy of director Jerrold Tarog that includes Heneral Luna (2015) with John Arcilla in the lead role, and Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral (2018) with Paulo Avelino as Gregorio "Goyo" Del Pilar. 

The film QUEZON is a historical drama focusing on the political rise and as a statesman of Philippine President Manuel Luis Quezon. The film is fast face, no violence, engaging, and entertaining. Every scenes are well crafted, the cinematography, production design, editing, music, and most of all Jericho Rosales gave justice to the character of Manuel L. Quezon. All of the actors and actresses included in the film gave a superb acting like Mon Confiado as Emilio Aguinaldo, Romnick Sarmienta as Sergio Osmeña, Karylle as Aurora Quezon, Benjamin Alves as the young MLQ. The Department of Education has recommended to support the film to junior and senior high school students, and teachers. It encourages to integrate the movie in classroom discussions especially its historical relevance. I encourage everyone to watch this film. The movie is now on its 4th week in hundreds of theatres nationwide. 

Sojourn At Kamay Ni Hesus Shrine

This is my 3rd visit at Kamay ni Hesus Shrine at Lucban, Quezon last March 03, 2016.  This time its a solo trip so I bring my selfie stick to take some photo session by myself and my Nikon D5100 digital camera.  I am delighted that every time I went to the shrine, there was a drizzle (light shower of rain) at the vicinity. I always believe that Jesus is always guiding me whenever I went here to visit the church because it will give me the comfort to stay here without experiencing the blazing heat of the sun especially when you started climbing the more than 250 steps going to the 50 foot statue of the Ascending Christ. This place is so special to my heart because you can find solace and peace of mind whenever you reach the top. There is unexplainable feeling after you spend sometime at the top of the shrine where you can see below the vast greenery of the place and overlooking the town of Lucban.  I had noticed that there are some development and changes that was added at Kamay ni Hesus shrine area.  At the right side of the entrance, you will noticed that they constructed a miniature mountain with waterfalls, and statutes of Jesus Christ and Mary, including the Last Supper, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the baptism of Jesus by John, and other religious murals. Aside from the statutes, you will be delighted to see different species of flora around the area. It is worth remembering to visit again the shrine and truly a rewarding experience. This time I took more than 100 photos of the area but I will only post some which are worth sharing for.

Whew! It's almost been 2 months I have not written on this blog. I just came from my two months vacation from the Philippines and it so hard for me to continue writing while I'm enjoying my memorable and remarkable vacation. I decided not to post anything so I can enjoy much of my needed rest and recreation. Now I'm back in Saudi Arabia and started to work hard to earn that much needed dollars for my bank account. My January vacation from the Philippines was the most memorable one among the others. It was a great experienced to visit Kamay ni Hesus Shrine at Lucban, Quezon where you can find the huge statue of Jesus Christ atop the hill by 292 hundred steps to reach the pinnacle. Before reaching the top you will be passing the statues of the 14 Stations of the Cross. The view is breathtaking and you can find peace and serenity because of its green landscape, lush greenery, virgin forest, and unpolluted place. From South, we went to North at Our Lady of Manaoag Shrine in Pangasinan, a 5 hours travel by bus. The moment I stepped in front of the church, I felt a sense of holiness, peace, and serenity inside of me. I cried during my prayers and it makes me feel at peace and relieved. I had a grand time and enjoyed our reunion with my college buddies at Gerry's Grill at Mall of Asia, Pasay City. We visited one of my dear friend Ruby who is sicked and wheelchaired at their house in Calamba City, Laguna. Eventually, my bonding with my family is the most important part of my vacation where I spend quality time with them, especially with my mother and father, my sisters and brothers, and my nephews.
