I just bought a new plant to add to my ever growing mini garden at home. The latest one is called Ti plant or scientifically named as Cordyline Fruticosa. It is identified by common names as cabbage palm, palm lily, and good luck plant. Ti plant is an evergreen flowering plant but some of its variety have red or yellow color leaves. According to Wikipedia, Ti is a palm-like plant growing up to 9.8 to 13 feet tall with an attractive fan-like and spirally arranged cluster of broadly elongated leaves at the tip of the slender trunk (Source - Wikipedia).

Christmas Is In the Air
Christmas starts as early as September in the Philippines. The first thing you will notice is Christmas songs are played in every popular radio station in Manila. Then, shopping malls are decorated with lavish and beautiful decors especially Christmas trees with sparkling lights. One good example is this beautiful Christmas tree at SMDC Light Mall.

Fruits of Calamansi Tree
Finally, I harvested the fruits of my calamansi tree this morning. I was able to prepare a glass of calamansi juice and the taste was refreshing after I put ice on it. There are still calamansi fruits waiting to be harvested and I'm very excited about it. For your information, calamansi is packed with vitamin C and other beneficial nutrients.

Just bought and added this attractive and beautiful tree called “Song of India” to my mini garden. It is an ornamental plant with its richly coloured, evergreen leaves, thick and irregular stems (Source: Wikipedia). I hope this plant will properly grow and will propagate accordingly.

Eat Out
It's been a while that I was not able to blog because of my busy schedule. As a customer service associate you need to get enough sleep, and its difficult to eat out with our friends. After our shift yesterday some my teammates together with our Team Leader decided to have an eat out at Shakey’s SMDC Light Mall. We enjoy the food and take time to relax for a moment.

Rainy Season
It’s the month of August wherein rainy or wet season starts. True to its label, the second day of this month pours a heavy rain throughout the day. I’m very lucky it’s my rest day from work and I don’t have to go outside to brave the pouring rain. I’ve always found the rain very calming, I love the sound of the silver liquid drops of the rain.

Advantages of Gardening
Gardening and growing plants at home became my passion. Since my school days in elementary I used to enjoy watering and taking care of the vegetables and plants in our school backyard garden. Until now I started to buy fruit bearing plants like lemon, calamansi, and chili pepper, ornamental plants like santan flower, Zamioculcas or Zu zu plant (comonly known as welcome plant), etc. I enjoyed watering them during my rest day from work and believe me it’s a stress relieving activity. I felt peace of mind especially by watching them and talking to them. Another advantage of having plants at home is it reduces greenhouse gasses.

Service Milestone
Today is my first year anniversary working at a BPO company. I am very grateful that I was given a chance to work as a customer service representative and the experienced is rewarding and beneficial. It was a journey that included challenges especially changing your working hours every four months which is very difficult because you need to adjust your body clock accordingly. It takes 2 to 3 weeks that you adjusted yourself to the shift schedule. Anyway, this is one of the challenges of working as a call center agent. The rewarding part are the perks and allowances that the company will pay you. There is night differential if you work on a night shift, skills allowances, healthcare benefits, paid leaves, 13th month pay, performance bonus, retirement plan, company outings, team building, etc. Indeed it takes patience, perseverance, and dedication to your chosen career as the key to stay long and be successful. This is only my first year and I will continue to love this job the best as I can. With the guidance of our Lord Jesus Christ I believe I can do it to stay longer with this career. Congratulations to me!

Summer is Here Again
PAGASA declared last March 22, 2019 as the start of the dry season or summer season in the Philippines. This was declared earlier than last years start of April 10, 2018 because of El Nino. We Filipinos will brace again warmer and hotter days ahead. People will troop to the beach to enjoy the cool water of the sea and some will go to resorts to immerse themselves to swimming pools all day long. Beach lovers will not only enjoy the white sands but also the clean and clear crystal waters of the sea. During this dry season, keep hydrated by drinking water every now and then. Enjoy the summer season.

Our much awaited team building was held last February 27-28, 2019 at the beautiful and magical place of Papaya Island Cove's at Nasugbu, Batangas. This island is truly a paradise. We had experienced to do cliff jumping, swimming, trekking, fish feeding, and beach bumming for a 2 days 1 night package on an affordable budget.
