Like this song from Madonna. Very cool and the video is great and colorful. The title of the song is "Give Me All Your Luvin" which is now currently No. 13 at the Billboard Hot 100. This song will be the 56th time Madonna had entered into the Hot 100. The song is included in the album titled "MDNA" which will be released on March 26. Can't wait to buy this great album from the Queen of Pop!

Samsung Galaxy Note

Just bought my new Samsung Galaxy Note which is the latest smartphone from Samsung. I may say that I'm a proud owner of this fantastic gadget because its an all in one smartphone or you might say a tablet. I'm enjoying the functions of this smartphone especially the new added attraction which is S-Pen or Stylus Pen attached at the back of the phone. You can take notes and draw by using the S-Pen through the S Memo application. At 5.3 inches diagonally, the Galaxy Note is the largest device that you could reasonably still call a mobile phone. Inside the Galaxy Note is a 1.4 GHz dual-core Exynos chip and 1GB of RAM, together with 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable by adding a micro-SD card like a 32GB which I bought together with the unit. The Galaxy Note sports a High Definition (HD) Super AMOLED display, this time at 1280x800 (WXGA) resolution. The screen is so vivid you can enjoy the screen and display. Amazingly, the unit is thin and light for a 5.3 incher. I can put it also on my jeans pocket without being uncomfortable. The Galaxy Note runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the TouchWiz 4.0 UI. I believe Samsung is now the leading smartphone maker in the world because of its innovative and unique mobile phones being sold around the world. I owned a Samsung Galaxy S II and a Samsung I8910 Gold Edition and I'm still using it. Everybody is talking about Samsung Galaxy Note in our office. I'm very very proud that I'm the first one to own it even if the price is a little bit high. But I believe its worth of a penny. Bravo to Samsung Galaxy Note.

Two Days Before Christmas

It is really cold hear in Saudi Arabia on the month of December. During this season you will encounter different types of sickness. Sinced yesterday I was not feeling well when I came from the office. I was coughing a lot and I really feel tired. I take a 10 minute rest and opened my laptop for a while and checked my FB account and watched half of the news from the Philippines. Finally, to get out of boredom alone in my room even I'm not feeling well, I decided to go out and went to Lulu Hyperkmarket which is just a 15 minute walk from our building. I bought some groceries for the preparation of Christmas. I was planning to make a fruit salad so I bought lots of fruit cocktail cans, as well as apples, bananas and oranges. After I finished to buy all the things I need, I decided to take a limousine going to my place. Still I was coughing a lot and feeling to have a fever. I drink one tablet of panadol and decided to sleep as well.

Today, two days before Christmas, when I woke up from bed, I got this headache and my coughing continued as well. I decided to drink one tablet of panadol again and for a while it relieved me from my headache and pain on my back. I was able to wash my clothes and eat my lunch and prepared the fruit salad for Christmas day.

Tonight, before I sleep, I pray and wish when I wake up tomorrow my feelings will be good and better again. I don't want to spend my Christmas in bed because this a special day I want to celebrate.

I'm so blessed that celebrating my birthday today is so peaceful and quiet. It is like just an ordinary day in the office without anybody knowing that this is my special day of my life. The first thing I did when I woke up this morning is to say a prayer to God thanking him the blessings he has given me and for my family. It is really a busy day for me at work. I'm planning to eat at a special restaurant after work but I decided to buy a special noodles and a small cake for me to eat at my flat. Thank God for giving me a chance to live more and being here as part of the history. Good health, good tidings, peaceful life, and more financial blessings are my wish for the coming years.

I really like when the month of December comes. First, December means cold season is here to give us relief from the scorching hot season of Saudi Arabia. During December, the weather is really very good and you feel relax and you can enjoy outside the cold temperature, walking along the bayside, sitting on the fresh green grass. Second, December is a very special month for the Christian world, whereas we celebrate Christmas Day on December 25 in commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Although I'm working here in KSA for over 19 years already, I never forget to pray for the souls of my departed ones (relatives and close friends) during this occasion. Ramadan had ended, department stores and hypermarkets in the Kingdom started the season of bargain and sale items slashing their prices from 25 up to 50%. This is a good chance for all people especially for the expatriates to avail of this special opportunity. Since I'm planning to buy a BlackBerry smartphone, I went to a mobile shop to check the item. I chanced upon the BlackBerry Curve 9300 on sale for a price of only SR 949 which was considerably a best price for me. The price of the phone was SR 1099 before. After checking the specifications of the gadget, I bought the phone immediately and saved about SR 150 from my pocket. I also bought my son Raven, a BlackBerry Curve 8520 at a price of SR 649 which is already a killer price. I know my son will be very happy to received this phone since he requested me to buy this one for him. Now, I'm enjoying to use my BlackBerry to the fullest. Its really so cool!

Just attended a children's birthday party tonight, September 08, 2011. It was a colorful and wonderful party for the kids, as everybody enjoyed it. I was a part of the parlor games for adults and I enjoyed it much. I had realized tonight that kids and adults can enjoy together at the same time away from the pressures of school or work from the office. It was indeed a colorful life tonight as what the clown from the party symbolizes. An enjoyable night indeed!

Summer Is Here

It's the start of the summer and humid season in Saudi Arabia. Today we experienced a very uncomfortable hot weather in our place at Al-Khobar, added by the high humidity of the climate at 38% in the morning and 79% in the evening. The temperature rose at a staggering 40 degrees Celsius. This is the beginning of the summer season in Saudi Arabia. The coming days ahead is expected to be a hotter one.

Renovation of Our Office

I will totally miss the set-up of my workstation in our office. The management decided to totally renovate our place which was built last 1997. They decided to modernize the set-up of the layout and to design it with a more friendly set-up. Here are some of the snapshot of my present workstation. After three years of using my Toshiba Laptop, I decided to buy a new one to catch up with the latest technology. After taking surveys and interviews with some experts from different computer shops, I finally choose a DELL brand. Today is a very special day for our family. A very special person is celebrating her 69th year of life which our Lord God had given her. We all consider her the greatest gift God had given to us. She is loving, compassionate, soft spoken, hardworking, and most of all kindhearted. The person I'm describing is no other than my dear mother. I can no longer find any superlatives I can tell about her. After raising seven children in her entire life, we are giving her back the special attention and care she deserves. I believe its our moral obligation to give her the love she had given us. I'm a living witness of how my mother sacrificed her life to raised us to be a good and God fearing individual. Without her, we don't exist here on earth. My only wish and prayers on her special day is to have God give her good health, stronger body, and more years to come of living here on earth. Two days before Christmas, I presented myself a gift for this special day. Since, I'm living here in Saudi Arabia, Christmas is not being celebrated here. Just to feel the spirit of this important day among billions of Christians around the world, I to see to it to buy something new whether for my personal use or for my entertainment purpose. I bought this morning a pair of original Sebago Casual Marine shoes at Al-Garawi Shoe Store in Al-Khobar worth SR300. The shoes look nice and simple. It's also comfortable to wear and most importantly, the quality is excellent. Last night, I went to LULU Hypermart near to my apartment to buy some groceries. I've chanced upon this JVC DVD Portable System at the 2nd floor of the electronics section of the hypermart. Although I have already my SONY Component System, I never hesitate to buy this cute JVC portable system. To tell you the truth, I was attracted by the design and color of the unit. I considered the unit expensive for the price of SR499, compared to other brands that are displayed at the rack of the electronics section. Apparently, my Christmas gift to myself is already complete, but I'm planning to buy a new gold ring after I received my salary this end of the month of December and also as a gift for the new year to come of 2011.

I recently bought a lucky bamboo plant at Tammi Safeway along Al-Khobar Corniche. This is to give more a green environment in my room. Lucky Bamboo (Dracaena sanderina) is a houseplant. Grown in glass or pots and not outside in a garden (usually). This how the lucky bamboo plant looks like.

According to the website, www.luckybambooplants.net, Lucky Bamboo as a house plant is one of the most striking and surprisingly one of the most easy as well.

This easy to care for plant requires little from us to keep it growing. And worst case scenario – it can even grow without natural lighting. Yes, even in windowless office cubicles this plant can provide enjoyment by bringing in some of the rain forest to the concrete jungle that is home to thousands of office buildings.

Since I'm practicing Feng Shui, lucky bamboo is a plant that often takes a major part in this ancient art of directing energy throughout one’s home, work place and life.

Now I'm starting to take care of my lucky bamboo by giving them enough water to sustain the span of their life. I even talked to then when I woke up in the morning and greets them when I enter my room after work. I suggest you try to grow a lucky bamboo plant in your room. It will make you feel good.

I bought recently a FESTINA Chronograph Bike Watch 2010 worth SR 1100. This is the latest collection from Festina with completely renewed style, even sportier look. All In A Week's Time

In every personal things that I bought, I made sure it will be worthwhile, good quality and long lasting item for my own use. I had realized that I need to treat myself in return for being a hardworking guy for the past months. Working 6 days from 7AM to 7PM (12 hours) in the office and at maintenance department office, giving myself a gift is the best thing I can make myself happy. All in a week’s time, I bought two pair of shoes, one fresh cologne for men and a surprise “pasalubong” from my boss who just came from Germany for a business trip.

A pair of Sperry-Topsider ASV (Anti Shock and Vibration) rubber shoes worth 340 Saudi Riyals to be used for my morning exercise and walk at Al-Khobar corniche every Thursday.

A pair of Red Wings casual shoes (brown color) worth 380 Saudi Riyals for my everyday use in the office in addition from my two Dexter casual shoes I’m using right now.

Since I’m a perfume lover, it will always be on my list to buy and try a different scent available in the market. I had bought S.T. Dupont Cologne for Men. This woody, aromatic scent for men is fresh and bracing. Love to wear it as an alternate for my numerous perfume and cologne on my collections.

Finally, my boss had given me one big TOBLERONE Swiss Dark Chocolate with Honey and Almond Nougat, one box of Belgian Milk Truffles, one box of MasMoudi Patisserie, and one bottle of Wild-heidelbeere Konfiture ,, EXTRA" jam.

Wow, thank God for these blessings. It happened all in a week's time.

Ma. Venus Raj - You Made Us Proud as a Filipino

Although the Manila hostage drama that happened on August 23, 2010 was a black-eye to our country, on the positive side of the news was the 4th Runner-Up win of Ma. Venus Raj of the Philippines in the 59th Miss Universe Beauty Pageant held at Mandalay Bay Hotel, Las Vegas, USA (August 23, USA time). It took eleven years before a Filipina beauty won a top five place in the prestigious beauty pageant watched by millions of people all over the world. The last time the Philippines won a placed on the Miss Universe pageant was Mirriam Quiambao who won 1st Runner-Up in 1999 held at Trinidad & Tobago. As for my personal opinion, Ma. Venus Raj should have won the Miss Universe title hands down if she did not made a blunder to that controversial "major, major problem" answer. But for me, she is a goddess of beauty. A beauty with enormous class, intelligence, and glamour which represents a typical Filipina girl. At least at the day and moment of that shameful hostage drama that took place in Manila, a Filipina beauty somehow restored the respect we needed so badly as a Filipino people. My heartfelt congratulations to Miss Ma. Venus Raj. You made us proud as a Filipino.

I've just talked to my father and mother yesteday. It was an emotional conversation indeed. I know well what's going on. It's very hard to explain but this is a moment that my father and mother are experiencing the most difficult times of their lives. I considered this day a depressing moment in my life. The sadness in me was very painful, I cannot explain it. I pray to God that he takes care of my father and mother as I am miles away from them. My mother told me as she hold back her tears that we can overcome these trials as God will provide us the strength to accept the reality of life no matter how painful it is.

Our parents are the great priceless gift given by God to everyone of us. In this world there is someone who always think of us, who never tries to hurt us, who tries to sacrifice all their happiness, who tries to complete all our wishes. Mom and Dad, I love you very much. For all these years I am humbled by your kindness and greatness as parents to us. I know wherever you are, God will take care for both of you.

Climate Change

It's almost eight days now that very high humidity and very hot temperature is the weather condition in our area at Al-Khobar and Dammam. It's very difficult to go outside even at night because you will perspire a lot even on a very short walk. Eighteen years I had been here in the Kingdom and I believed this is the worst I had experienced so far, due maybe of the climate change and global warming. There are some e-mails going on that temperature here in Saudi Arabia will reach as high as 70 degrees celsius in the coming months. I'm praying that this kind of weather temperature will not reach that high. I hope God will do something to ease our sufferings from this worst condition so far. Prayers, prayers.

I was fascinated by this figurine displayed along a photoshop center at King Khalid Street, Al-Khobar. Without a second thought I asked the sales clerk how much it cost. The price you guess can buy me a pair of Nike shoes and a pair of Nike socks. Nevertheless I got this feeling that this ornamental figurine fish made of jade stone can give me some relief from stress and luck, so I decided to buy it. Wonders of wonders, when I turned off the lights during nightime in my room, the figurine will create a luminous light. I was lucky enough to have bought this stuff. It's so relieving watching them at night, making my sleep stress free and peaceful.

Father's Day is being celebrated around the world on the third Sunday of June. It is being commemorated to honor fatherhood and male caretakers.

According to history, Father's Day was born as a token of love and gratitude that a daughter cherishes for her beloved father. It was the idea of a woman named Sonora Smart Dodd to celebrate Father's Day (during a Mother's Day sermon at a church) because after her mother died, it was her father Henry Jackson Smart who made all parental sacrifices and took over all the responsibilities of a mother could have done to her children. Mr. Henry Smart was born on June 19, 1910 that's why Sonora Smart Dodd chose to celebrate Father's Day every third Sunday of June.

President Nixon of the United States of America permanently declared a national observance of Father's Day in every third Sunday of June.

In honoring my father's unconditional love for us, I always wish him good health for the years to come. Through good and bad times, my father is always there to support, guide, and teach us how to be strong.

I had been longing to do this for quite some time and its only now that I had the chance to do this. Although there are some bitter moments and experiences from my past, I considered them as part of the process of growing and learning. Good and unforgettable moments will be there to remember. It will be an inspiration for me as years goes by. As I celebrate my third year of blogging, I want to share with you photos of my younger years, when I was 1-1/2 and 4 years old then. It was such a delight that my mother had kept these pictures for a long time. Whenever I look back to these photos, I cannot hide the happiness and joy within me. It was a dream come true on our trip to Our Lady of Manaoag Church in Pangasinan last January 30, 2010. I was longing to visit the Shrine since my last vacation on 2008. Unfortunately the plan during that time did not push through. This year on my vacation, I had promised to visit the Church come rain or shine. Me and a friend leave my house at 5 am from Imus, Cavite and reached the Pasay City terminal of Five Star Bus at 5:45 am. We ride one of the bus going to Dagupan City and asked the bus conductor if he can bring and drop us at Our Lady of Manaoag Church at Pangasinan. He willingly obliged to drop us at Urdaneta City and instructed us to take a tricycle ride (around 20 minutes) going to Manaoag Church with a fare of 100 pesos. The trip going to North Luzon Expressway was exciting for me since this is the first time I will see the changes that has been done through many years with regards to the road and other infrastructure that has been built on the area. I did not sleep in the bus because I don't want to missed anything I can see on our way to the Northern provinces along McArthur Highway. We had a 20 minute stopover at Mabalacat, Pampanga to relieve ourselves and buy some snacks. The trip was painstankingly long because it took us more than 5 hours to reach Manaoag. Nevertheless, it was joy and happiness that I felt upon reaching the Church. We were not able to catched the last mass in the morning of 11 o'clock because upon reaching the church, the priest was already blessing religious articles in front of the altar. Anyway, me and my friend prayed for our own intentions that lasted for several minutes and took some pictures for souvenir around the Church. Many people visiting the Church are taking pictures and the security personnel are not that strict. We were able to visit behind the altar of the Virgin a mini-chapel where visitors go to touch the image's mantle. Her mantle is visible and can be touched only through a small partition, small enough for hands to fit. Upon touching the mantle I offered a short prayer and thank her for the blessings of God that we were able to reached the shrine safely. I was able to drop my petition prayers (for good health of my father and mother and the whole family, more blessings, peace and love for the whole world) at the petition box. It was a wonderful trip for me to the Holy Shrine, a dream come true that I visited it for the first time. I felt the peace and holiness inside me and I unabashedly cried during my prayers. I will again visit the Church on my next vacation and will make sure to catch an earlier trip so I can attend and hear the earlier mass.

Whew! It's almost been 2 months I have not written on this blog. I just came from my two months vacation from the Philippines and it so hard for me to continue writing while I'm enjoying my memorable and remarkable vacation. I decided not to post anything so I can enjoy much of my needed rest and recreation. Now I'm back in Saudi Arabia and started to work hard to earn that much needed dollars for my bank account. My January vacation from the Philippines was the most memorable one among the others. It was a great experienced to visit Kamay ni Jesus Shrine at Lucban, Quezon where you can find the huge statue of Jesus Christ atop the hill by 292 hundred steps to reach the pinnacle. Before reaching the top you will be passing the statues of the 14 Stations of the Cross. The view is breathtaking and you can find peace and serenity because of its green landscape, lush greenery, virgin forest, and unpolluted place. From South, we went to North at Our Lady of Manaoag Shrine in Pangasinan, a 5 hours travel by bus. The moment I stepped in front of the church, I felt a sense of holiness, peace, and serenity inside of me. I cried during my prayers and it makes me feel at peace and relieved. I had a grand time and enjoyed our reunion with my college buddies at Gerry's Grill at Mall of Asia, Pasay City. We visited one of my dear friend Ruby who is sicked and wheelchaired at their house in Calamba City, Laguna. Eventually, my bonding with my family is the most important part of my vacation where I spend quality time with them, especially with my mother and father, my sisters and brothers, and my nephews. My vacation will not be worthy at all if I will not share to you some of the pictures I've taken during that period. Above photos are taken at Kamay ni Jesus Shrine.

Hindi ko minsan maintindihan kung ano itong aking nararamdaman. Kahit malayo kami sa isa't isa ay gusto ko siyang tawagan araw-araw marinig man lang ang kanyang boses. Ang palitan namin ng text na pawang paalala at pagmamahal sa isa't isa ang nilalaman ay mistulang patunay na in love kami pareho. Palagi kong pinaaalala sa kanya na sana ay huwag siyang magbago dahil siya lamang ang taong nakapagpapaligaya sa akin tulad ng kanyang mga tawa.

Bago ang lahat, gusto kong ikuwento ang aking buhay noon at ngayon. Honestly speaking, I live a very lonely life. Lagi akong nag-iisa at loner. May mga kaibigan ako ngunit hindi ganoon ako ka-close sa kanila. Gumawa ako ng sarili kong mundo. I keep myself busy at pinagtuunan ko ng maigi ang aking trabaho. Nabili ko ang lahat ng aking gusto sa aking pagsisikap. Bahay at lupa, mga bagong damit, mga latest na gadgets tulad ng cellphone, laptop, mga alahas at ginto. Bumili pa ako ng iba pang mga ari-arian tulad ng lupa for future investment. Sa ngayon nakakapagpa-aral ako ng aking pamangkin at tumutulong ako sa aking kapatid at magulang. Nabuhay ako ng nag-iisa, umiiyak sa gabi, nangungulila dahil walang nagmamahal, walang kapiling at yumayakap. May kulang sa aking buhay sabi ko sa aking sarili. Hanggang tinuon ko naman ang aking libangan sa internet. Nag-join ako sa Friendster at Facebook. Nagbabakasakaling may makilala at makabalita sa aking mga kaibigan nuong college days ko. To my surprise, dumami ang aking mga kaibigan sa Friendster at Facebook. Kamustahan, thanks for the add ang mistulang naging national anthem ng bawat isa. Hanggang isang araw sa Friendster, may isang guy na nagsend ng message sa akin. Sana raw maging close friend niya ako, I look decent at professional daw sa aking primary photo. Check ko naman ang profile niya at photos. Actually, impress agad ako sa primary photo niya. The guy is not that handsome pero may dating. Kung baga ay may something x-factor ang kanyang mga ngiti. Nakakahawa ba. Check ko pa ang mga photos niya. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, siya ito dahil sa dami ng albums niya on different places ay siya lamang ang makaka-upload niyon. He took some pictures na nakahubad siya with his walking shorts. Balbon ang guy at maganda ang katawan. May abs pa nga siya. Ang na-notice ko sa kanya ay ang napakasayahin niyang mukha dahil of all pictures niya ay naka-smile siya with his white and complete teeth. After that, nag response ako na its okay for me na maging friend ko siya. The next day, he replied at tinanong niya kung may roaming ako at binigay niya sa akin ang kanyang cellphone number. Nasabi ko sa aking sarili na serious siya sa kanyang intention. So I made the the first move na mag-text sa kanya. To make the long story short, dito nabuo ang aming closeness thru texting at later on ay nagtatawagan na kami. He work in a reputable and big company sa Makati and lives in Calamba, Laguna.

Walang araw na hindi kami nagte-text, every morning, lunch time, and in the evening before we go to sleep we communicate with each other. Hanggang magsabi siya na in-love na raw siya akin. Frankly speaking, naunahan lang niya akong sabihin iyun sa kanya. Pinipigil ko lang ang aking sarili na baka hindi niya ako ma-accept. This made me really happy na hindi ko pa nararamdam sa buong buhay ko. Sinabi ko rin na in-love din ako sa kanya.

Ganito pala ang umibig. Walang puwang ang anumang edad, kasarian at pamantayan ng buhay. Sigurado ako sa aking sarili na mahal ko siya. Dahil maraming nabago sa aking sarili. Napuna ng aking mga kasamahan sa upisina na iba ang aura at glow ng aking hitsura at mga ngiti. Lagi akong masayahin at marinig ko lang ang message tone ng aking cellphone ay lumulundag na sa kasiyahan ang aking puso dahil alam kong siya na ang nag-text. It is a wonderful and unexplainable feelings which I cannot describe. Lalo pang pinasabik ng aking puso ang pagkikita namin sa darating kong bakasyon sa January. It will be an exciting meeting between him and myself. Dito namin mapapatunayan sa aming dalawa kung totoo nga kami sa isa't-isa. Ang alam ko ngayon sa aking sarili ay mahal ko siya at walang sinumang makakahadlang sa aming pagmamahalan. This is a journey that I will cherish and relish for the meantime.

Eid Mubarak! The start of the holidays in Saudi Arabia is a welcome relief from my strenuous work for the past weeks and months. The weather is very conducive especially the winter season has started already. For the meantime, I will have the chance to organize my room again (as what I've being doing every year) and take time to free my mind from any worries and pressure from work. Watch movies and listening to my favorite music are the two things I'm gonna do this rest days. Actually, I started to walk every morning at the Corniche area and it seems many expatriates from different nationalities are enjoying the morning breeze. Some are busy with their fishing, some are enjoying their walk together with their friends, families bonding together with their children playing around the green grass along the park. Its a sight you will enjoy and relish. Holidays are opportunity for every people to enjoy and take time to do things that needed to be done. It is like a celebration of life to get away our mind from worry, stress, and pressures. Needless to say, it is a chance for us to take a long deep sleep which is one of the basics of taking a rest. To all the people who are enjoying the holidays in Saudi Arabia, each and everyone of us deserve this much needed break.

My impression is, I will wear this more often and for everyday activities. It makes me more confident and standout from the crowd. It was horrible

Unimaginable magnitude of raging water

Destroying properties and human beings

People crying, seeking for help

Continuous rains lasting for six hours

First time in hundred years this was experienced

In our country devastated by the wrath of Ondoy

Somehow it was like a scene of biblical proportion

Houses were covered by running water

Residents stayed 24 hours on the rooftop

To keep safe from the strong currents of the tide

That will never be forgotten for a long long time

Hundreds and thousands of people left homeless

How can they recover from this devastation

I'm asking why should this happen in abruptness

In a country that faith to God is so intense.

After the continuous rain had subsided

Dead human beings were seen trap on trees and riverbanks

Streets and roads full of dirt and smelly mud

So heartbreaking and painstaking to understand.

Please God, give us enough time to recover

Ramadan is often called the Glorious Month in the Islamic calendar. Fasting is one of the most important pillars of Islam and it is the month of Ramadan during fasting which is mandatory and required for all adults and sane Muslims. During Ramadan, fasting, intensive prayer, divine worship, and sacrifice are being performed by Muslims which is a source of ample Divine favor.

As I had mentioned again and again, I have a deep respect for Islam that teaches the good way of life. During this holy month of Ramadan, I wish my fellow Muslim brothers joys of life be showered to all of you.

The Miracle of Friendship

Former Philippine President Cory Aquino died August 01, 2009 at the age of 76 after an 18 month battle with colon cancer. She is considered an Icon of Philippine democracy and the first women President of Southeast Asia. Mrs. Aquino rosed to prominence after her husband the late Benigno Aquino, Jr. was assassinated at the tarmac of then Manila International Airport (which later was named to Ninoy Aquino International Airport or NAIA) on August 21, 1983. The "people power" uprising which Mrs. Aquino led brought down the 20 year regime of Ferdinand Marcos. The Philippine "people power" style was an inspiration to nonviolent resistance around the world, including those that ended communist rule particularly in eastern Europe. I may say, Mrs. Corazon Aquino was beloved to many Filipino people. She is a devout Catholic, a true mother to her children and to a nation. She never questioned God about her cancer because it is only her who is involved in this battle. She will be remembered in Philippine and world history as the woman who led a bloodless revolution against a dictator. As our nation mourns on her death, I believe Mrs. Aquino is very happy that she is with her almighty God. She is very happy that she will be reunited with her beloved Ninoy. A nation has lost an icon, a symbol of democracy, a woman of bravery, and a mother to Filipino people.

My fetish for perfumes and colognes are undeniably forever and lasting. As long I live, I will never be tired of using it everyday. Today, I was able to visit World Perfumes and Cosmetics shop in Rahmaniah Mall in Al-Khobar. Looking for a good perfume that would add to my collection, I asked the sales clerk if they have one that smells fresh like after you take a bath, but not too strong enough to irritate someone else. He recommended me VERSACE MAN EAU FRAICHE cologne. Upon spraying on my left part of my hand, the smell is refreshing and manly. It's a fairly good scent that reminds me the aroma of fresh wooden floors and I bought it at once. It will be a gorgeous fragrance for a day at work. Now I have added a new perfume and cologne to my collection counting more than a hundred.

A QUICK LOOK AT THE SCENT: This new Versace Man version is fresher and more aquatic. While the original Versace Man had a certain Latino vibe to it due to tobacco note in its oriental surroundings, Eau Fraiche has a Mediterranean quality with some woody notes. It was a very bad morning when I looked up the news at the internet. I thought it was only a joked or something else. But as I read the breaking news, my tears began flowing down unknowlingly. It was the news of Michael Jackson's death of cardiac arrest that shocked me this me morning. Though people around the world may hate or love him, Michael Jackson in a way has been part of our lives. He is considered one of the greatest pop artist of all time, together with Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and Madonna. His unforgettable hit songs like Thriller, Bad, Billie Jean, Black or White, Smooth Criminal, Beat It, Dirty Diana, Man in the Mirror, etc. will never be forgotten, and his music will live on forever. Although Michael Jackson songs are on pop/rock genre, the songs that struck me most are those slow music that I admired most. These songs are Heal the World, Will You Be There, You Are Not Alone, I Just Can't Stop Loving You. These songs I believe are so much pesonal for Michael Jackson, sentimentally portraying his feelings and thoughts about his life. The legacy of Michael Jackson's music as well as his personal life will be remembered in our history. He is one of the most talented entertainers of the 20th century. I'm sad that we had lost one soul that somehow in my life had influence me through his music. But I'm very happy that Michael Jackson no matter how controversial and eccentric his life is, he is already with our Creator. I'm dissapointed because my dream of he and Madonna will collaborate for a song will not be a reality. I'm really waiting for that duet for a long time. And I believe it will be a great song that will rock the music world (two music Icons singing together) if ever that materializes.

With Michael Jackson's demised, among his songs I will never forget is "Gone Too Soon", a song actually dedicated to Ryan White, a young victim of AIDS whom Michael befriended. Upon hearing the song, tears will always come from my eyes. It is very solemn and meaningful. The song's message and meaning is very clear. It makes me believe that we should respect the length of time we have to make for the rest of our lives. Allow me to publish the lyrics of the song. Today, we are celebrating Father's Day. An annual event that complements Mother's Day. Father's day is a day honoring our father. In every home, a father is considered the paternal protector and provider of a family. He is the foundation of every home. This morning I was able to call my father. Indeed, I missed him so much. He is a father I admired most for he was able to gave us the best education, discipline, and fatherhood to our family. As a tribute for his undying support for us, a fitting gift for him is a short poem which I had written especially for Father's day. I want him to know that my love will never change, as I do much for my mother.

Just bought my new Sony Mini HI-FI Component System a few days ago. The whole system is superb, specially the direct radiation subwoofer. The sound is worth the price. I enjoy playing all available CD's I have in my collection rack. The system can play any DVD video mode, VR mode, audio CD, video CD, or any data CD format containing MP3 audio tracks, JPEG image files or DivX video files. Aside from these features, a multi port for walkman phones and other portable devices is included. There is also a USB port for USB device which can play MP3 audio tracks only.

To sum it all, the Mini Hi-Fi system features 3 Disc DVD changer, Karaoke Function, MP3/JPEG playback, USB Function and Digital Media Port, a 7,900W power output.

Now I'm enjoying watching my DVD collections. Two thumbs up!

The Great Manny Pacquiao

I was never been a fan of Manny Pacquiao (although he is a national pride of our country). Nor do I seldom watch a boxing game at my own will, unless someone will persuade me (I despised seeing blood coming out of the boxers face and the punches they hurled to each other, it makes me puke). Until my officemates convinced me to watch the fight of Manny Pacquiao with Ricky Hatton this morning at the Internet room, I now became a fan of Pacman as what they called him. Suddenly, my doubt was erased as I was amazed and stunned how Pacman demolished and destroyed the current IBO light welterweight champion in just 2 rounds with an amazing and deadly left hook that took the Englishmen flattened on the ring and was hospitalized.

It was indeed a glorious moment for every single Filipino watching Manny Pacquiao winning this match. I myself cannot explain this enormous pride. For me, Manny symbolizes greatness in his sport, greater than Muhammad Ali as what Bob Arun emphasized. He is the greatest boxer alive, pound for pound, no doubt! Congratulations Manny, you really makes us proud as a Filipino. From now on, I will be one of your legion and million fans around the world. The greatness in you will forever be recorded in the history of sports. You are "The Great Manny Pacquiao".

Today, I’m celebrating the 2nd anniversary of my blog. It was only like yesterday that I started to join this site (April 2007). Goodbye 2008! It was a year of both failures and successes. But for me, life is good. For the first time in my stay in Saudi Arabia, I had never been hospitalized or was even on sick leave during the period of 2008. Thanks for water therapy because I experienced a positive change in my health after implementing it in my daily routine. All I did for the whole year is to drink water, no coffee, no tea, or softdrinks as adviced by the doctor. There are lots of benefits of water therapy to our body. It has magical effects in curing diseases. Thank GOD for giving us water to drink.

There are many challenges I've encountered during the period of 2008. Some are failures which I considered lessons and will be a barometer for me to achieve my goals for the coming year. Some are successes which had been targets and goals that I had planned. Thanks for my hard work, discipline, perseverance, and dedication.

As I look forward for 2009, positivism will be the focus of my life. A positive outlook will give me a sense of direction. Look for the brighter side of life and stay away from negative vibes.

As we enter another fresh new year, another year to live! We need to live each day with zest and try to right some wrongs. We need to banish our worries, doubts, and fears and instead look forward with a brave heart. To love, laugh, and to give.

Today is a very special day for a person whom I considered the greatest person in my entire life. Without her, I will not be here pursuing the purpose of my existence. Every mother on earth is considered the “light” of each every home. Mothers are the greatest gift God had created. Like Mother Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, she is a symbol of piety, compassion, and love. I would like to consider this day so special for her although we are miles away from each other. I missed my mom so much that I could not give her a hug and kisses, that’s why this essay is dedicated to her for all the good things she had shared and given us. Her sacrifices, untiring love, compassion, and kindness will forever be remembered by me together with my brothers and sisters. Words are not enough to describe her dedication as a mother. We are very grateful to God that he gave us a mother like her. Today she is celebrating her 68th birthday, still very strong and healthy. We are praying to God to make her life longer so we can take care and serve her more. Personnally, I don’t know the repercussions if she ever leaves us. I may not be able to bear the emptiness of her presence. We also pray to God for her good health and lasting life. She deserves our care and in return to give our support and love for her.

Exactly 11:00 am in the morning of a cold December, forty five years ago, a healthy child was born by a loving and caring mother from the city of Mandaluyong. 11:00 am the cry of a new born baby gave a new life and hope for a simple yet hardworking family. The child was nurtured by his parents to be a good, bright and brave individual. He attended his primary school with his brother and sister at San Felipe Neri Parochial School in Mandaluyong and continued to finished elementary school in Manila after their family transferred to Calolocan City. There the child became a consistent honor student, eventually graduating as a Model Student and With Honors. He continued to study at Torres High School, became a consistent honor student, Literary Editor of the school newspaper, an orator and declaimer, and an active member of the Student Catholic Action (SCA). He was very active as a writer, writing poems and essays, and two of his poems were published by MOD magazine. Dreaming to become a journalist, he was persuaded by his parents to abandon his plans because there’s no money for this profession. After his high school graduation, he passed the entrance examination at Pamantansan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (University of the City of Manila), an elite school for scholars where students are practically called “Scholar ng Bayan” (Scholar of the State). He finished college with flying colors earning his Bachelors degree in Business Administration major in Management. He became an employee of a medium scale sales company in Makati and Mandaluyong City for eight years. After the Gulf war ended in 1992, he along with a co-employee decided to apply in an agency in Makati looking for male secretary/clerk in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Luckily, after one week he received a telegram requesting him to report for medical examination, eventually hiring him as a secretary in Saudi Arabia. This was the start of the good things that happened to him working hard for many years away from his family. Along with his job in the Middle East, he never forget to write poems and essays every now and then. He helped his parents financially in sending younger brother and sisters to school. He continued to worked hard and transferred to Vinnell Arabia Corporation (an American contractor training the Saudi Arabian National Guard) as Admin Specialist. He worked then for five years. Looking for a more challenging job, he finished his contract with Vinnell and was hired as a Technical/Admin Staff for Middle East Battery Company in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. For eleven years he dedicated himself to his work and was then promoted as Coordinator/Secretary. It was indeed a story of success, patience and perseverance to attain such goals. During this period of his employment, he was able to purchased a house and lot, a parcel of land, and able to helped his parents. He is sending one of his nephew to school and continued his unconditional support to his family. Along with his success, he never forgets his passion for writing poems with a wide and interesting themes such as love, loneliness, war, peace, religion, family, patience, man, woman, and so on.

After forty five years of existence, this child who was born exactly 11:00 am on that peaceful morning is now a fulfilled and successful man. On this day of December 14, he is thanking God for all the blessings he received not only for him as well for his family. He will never forget the very day of his existence on this earth for God has given this precious life to him. Wishing that for years to come, he will still be able to serve and help his family, to have a healthy and peaceful life.

My Activities During the Eid Holiday

Good day to everyone! It's been a relaxing and stress free week for me. We have five days of holiday in Saudi Arabia celebrating Eid. This is the time I organized and cleaned my room, having a grand time sleeping, resting, shopping, and going to Corniche every morning and evening. I had a chance to spend the time listening to Classical music. Surprisingly, it's really relaxing and enjoyable to listen to the works of Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Chopin, Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Verdi, Erik Satie, and Debossy. It makes my mind free from tension and strain, as if I'm flying like a free bird enjoying and thinking the beauty and good things of life, away from the pressures of work. To add to this stress free environment during this period is the excellent weather condition of December. I really like the cold season. This morning I was able to bring my digital camera during my early brisk walked at the Corniche. It was really a very lovely morning, indeed. Thank God! I'm sharing some snapshots I had taken and see the beauty of Corniche and Al-Khobar area.

The Start of the Cold Weather

The cold season in Saudi Arabia had just started on the first day of November. It is really enjoyable to take a walk at night and in the early hours of the morning while the untiring blow of the wind kisses my face and my skin. It's time to unwind to have a brisk walk after work along the Corniche. Last November 06, my friend Tony and I enjoyed the long walk at the Corniche area at Al-Khobar. My Eleven Fruitful Years at MEBC

Looking back the past is not as easy it may be. There are past that are memorable and will be a guiding experience and learning in our life. For this reason, I would like to remember my eleven years of work at Middle East Battery Company a remarkable and unforgettable one.

Today, October 08, 2008, I’m celebrating my 11 years of employment with Middle East Battery Company (MEBC). I was hired on 1997 and it seems it was only like yesterday I was with my family in the Philippines. Eleven years of dedication of work, patience, perseverance, and fruitful years is how I describe my existence with my present company. For eleven years of hard work, I accomplished things that needs to be done. In other words, I was able to fulfill a significant part of my goals. I bought a parcel of land for future investment and completed to pay the house and lot I bought which I can say my very own. I had no regrets leaving my company in the Philippines because I can proudly say that I'm financially stable at this moment investing my money wisely. I know it’s not easy to work away from your family and love ones. This is the essence of sacrifice in order to uplift the condition of your economic status. I'm exultant to say that I helped and still helping my family and sending one of my nephew to school. My support to my family is unconditional and this makes me happy, contended, and fulfilled. You cannot explain the feelings inside if your intentions to do good things are sincere and wholeheartedly. Aside from these accomplishments, are experiences that I gained working in a foreign land. I had learned the culture of Saudi Arabia, its religion, the language, and most importantly the hospitality of the people in general. Working with other nationalities is a challenge for me to know their culture and traditions. Saudi Arabia is a good friend of our country and people. They welcome us to work with them and we became part of their success and development.

Eleven years seems too long for others. But for me, it was like a short period of time. If you look back and reminisce at the past, there are so many things to cherish and talk about. There are ups and downs, tears and laughter, frustrations and jubilations. This is a part of the process of moving and growing up, staying within the circle of time. I still believe that I can stay for two or three more years with MEBC, who knows. Only time can tell. For the meantime, I’m celebrating tonight my 11th anniversary going to my favorite restaurant at Al-Khobar area. Cheers!

Eid Mubarak! This is the greetings of every Muslims all over the world after the holy month of Ramadan has ended. I would like to congratulate our Muslim brothers on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr (September 30, 2008). I hope that the Eid would bring a new period of peace, progress and prosperity in the Islamic world. I have a deep respect for Islam. And one thing I admire to this religion is their fasting and performing prayers during this holy month seeking God's forgiveness and blessing. This is one of the pillars of Islam. Again, my congratulations to our Muslim brethren for this occasion.

Two days before the end of Ramadan, I was able to capture the night mood of Corniche area in Al-Khobar. It was absolutely quite and peaceful. People are still at home during that hour. Only few cars are passing along the highway and a small number of cars are parked at a nearby mall along the Corniche road. You can feel a little coldness of the night with intermittent blow of the wind, a sign that the cold season is approaching in Saudi Arabia. Needless to say, I'm the first person who will be glad to have the cold season fast approach as I personnally adore the climate intimately.

"This Is My Lucky Shirt". I bought this t-shirt two weeks ago. I was fascinated by the text written at the back of it, and I immediately bought it without a second thought. Wonders of wonders, since then, many good and positive things had happened to me. Because of this, I wear it every week going to my work. Sounds weird and crazy, huh!
